Privacy policy
How ShellsGO and its service providers handle your information.
Last updated: October 25, 2026
What we collect
- Account: your user ID, email address, nickname, profile bio and chosen avatar
- Activity: the devices you follow and, on the website, ownership marks and comments
- Submissions: product names, links, notes and your answers about whether you own or would buy a device. These are self-reported interests and ownership, not payment or transaction records.
Public browsing and advertising
We do not sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles. Browsing the public pages does not require an account.
How it is used
Your account, profile, follows and submissions are linked to your account ID. We use them to sign you in, show updates from products you follow, sync your choices and attribute contributions. Submission data is used to research and publish device profiles. Your public nickname, avatar and contributions may be displayed with published content; follower and owner totals are shown as aggregate counts.
Sign-in providers and service data
If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, the provider processes your sign-in request and shares the identity and profile information you authorize. We use authentication and hosting providers to operate accounts and store the information described above.
The Google Sign-In service may process account and contact information (including a phone number associated with your Google account), user and device identifiers, an IP address and approximate location, usage information and other service data. Google declares uses for authentication, security and service analytics, with data linked to users and not used for tracking in its iOS sign-in SDK privacy manifest. What is processed depends on your account, sign-in flow and provider configuration; this does not mean ShellsGO receives every item. See Google’s privacy policy and its sign-in data disclosure.
The website records product-page interactions with a session identifier to understand how its features are used. When Google Analytics is enabled on the website, it also processes page-view and related usage information. This website analysis is separate from signing in to the native iOS app. The app’s own performance timings are recorded locally; its sign-in provider’s data practices still apply.
Deleting your data
In the iOS app, open You → Account & privacy → Delete account, then confirm and complete the identity check. Deletion removes your personal profile, avatar, follows, original leads and contributor attribution. Independently verified public product facts remain. If a request is interrupted, use Resume deletion to finish it. Contact us if you need help accessing your account or managing your data.
